The first is my friend, Jasmine. This girl is so talented. The funniest part about it is that not very many people knew she did poetry until we did this video last summer at a talent show I hosted at the University of Memphis. You see, Jasmine is a bit of a tough chick. She plays ball, has a really loud mouth, and at times can curse like a sailor. Haha! I love this girl like a sister, though. I've seen grown men almost cry listening to the sharp rhymes she spits from her mouth. The girl is raw, believe me. She gets busy with NO MIC. (Shorty prefers to project her voice, rather than have it amplified.) Peep Game, nikkuh!
Let's fast forward to like...ten minutes ago. My girl Najwa sent me a poem to christen my brand new lifestyle blog. She said she doesn't want there to be a title. She hits hard...be on the look out for a video from her soon. In the meantime, read what she's got to say!
"How pathetic it is to waste precious time
to express what you call authentic and legit
and how petty it is to compile worthless actions and words
but in the end, is too afraid to admit
Artificial is a perfect description of your character
and you maybe even pass as polyester
because real is definitely not the term you should acquire
neither would it give people the right gesture
Taking your energy and reverting into power
and using it to do everything you hate
because I know it’s irritating to see me excel
and I know its hard to not be irate
Everyday’s a gift AKA the present
yesterday’s history and tomorrow’s a mystery
time waits for no man so why would you spend your
every little second hatin’ on me
Really, it’s jealously and envy and I do
understand your purpose for animosity
it’s really not that opaque because my status
is way beyond that point of believin’
See, what I’m really trying to say
is really simple when you think about it
being a hater serves no justice so just take my advice
and just stop it"

If you want to get in touch with either of them, holla at me! I will hook things up!
